GROW GROUP ACTION PLAN
Phase 1. Heads Up.
Purpose: Recruit Hosts and Leaders for Grow Groups.
- Before Heads Up.
- Set the dates for promotion. Choose three Sundays with a deadline the evening of the last Sunday.
- Develop promotional content. Ask Leaders and Hosts from the previous session the following question, “What are three reasons you would encourage someone to sign up as a leader or host?” Use their answers in promotions.
- Create a Leader/Host flyer. See Sample Heads Up Flyer.
- Pick the promotion format: interviews, bulletin, announcements, website, email, text, social media, mail, etc.
- Choose the type of study for the session: Discovery Bible Studies, or Foundation Studies, PODs.
- Prepare One Hour Leader Training and One Hour Host Training and pick the training formats (live, online, paper).
- Decide how to follow up and confirm with responders (phone call, email, text, etc.). One good way to facilitate sign ups is to link attenders with leaders through a leader email. For instance, "[email protected]" This by passes the middle person and lets the group leader confirm directly with attenders. Make sure your leaders know to confirm initial inquires.
- During Heads Up.
- Promote Leader and Host Sign-ups over three Sundays in format(s) that work best for you.
- Train Leaders and Hosts using the One Hour information in a format (live, online, mail) that works best for you. Don't bottle neck the process by meeting personally with everyone. Let them self declare. A robust One Hour Training document should eliminate the need to micro manage the training process.
- After Heads up.
- Follow up with responders. Confirm that they have gone through the One Hour Training and make assignments.
