The Bible is a book of answers. What you get out of it depends on what question you are asking to go into it.
Think of the gospel as an hourglass. The wide upper portion represents the results of choosing to live life apart from God. Things like loneliness, shame, hopelessness, chaos, and aimlessness. The lower wide portion represents the results of choosing to live life dependent upon God; love, joy, hope, peace, power and purpose. The narrow part is the forgiveness of God brought about by trusting in the substitutional death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. You have to pass through the narrow component to get from the upper part to the lower part.
