SOGY stands for Support Others or Go Yourself. The ultimate goal of global disciple making is that everyone would become SOGY— by either Supporting Others serving among the unreached, or Going Yourself to the unreached.
Support Others
Support others by forming a World Team. It's a creative and effective way to partner with those serving among the unreached. For every person that goes, there is a team of people that stays behind. Roughly eighty percent of every mission team is composed of supporters. Think of an iceberg. What you see is supported by something much larger that you don't see.
Support Others through a varied approach. Sometimes it's best to support individual workers (missionaries). Sometimes it's best to support a mission agency as a whole. This is especially true for agencies that serve in sensitive areas or ministries that focus on disaster relief. Individual support should include Americans who serve overseas (ex-pats) and internationals who serve in their own country. They are called indigenous, or national workers.
Support others through a diverse approach. Support can be done in various ways. You can be a prayer partner, a financial partner, and maybe even make a well-planned visit.

Go Yourself
Go yourself by a wide ranging approach. You can go by doing one way trips or out-and-back trips. Often the best approach to one way trip is a series of excursions of increasing duration. First is the short term mission trip (lasting weeks), then a midterm trip (lasting months), then the long term trip (lasting years). Another way to go is by doing a vision trip; a look, listen, and learn venture where you gain a sense of God's will via being on site.
Go yourself by taking the initiative. Contact an agency from the list below and begin the process by making inquiries. They have personnel to answer questions, and help with placement.
