SOGY
SOGY stands for Support Others or Go Yourself. The primary objective of global disciple making is to encourage individuals to become SOGY—either by supporting others engaged in ministry among the unreached or by going themselves to the unreached.
Support Others

Supporting Others who Go is comparable to being a part of the team holding the ropes for those bravely going over the cliff to rescue people. A significant majority, around eighty percent, of a mission team comprises supporters—individuals staying behind to provide crucial assistance. This support can manifest in various ways, including regular financial contributions through a sending agency, steadfast personal prayer support, or offering resources for those on stateside leave, such as housing, transportation, or medical services. Additionally, support may involve well-thought-out visits to those on the mission field, contributing significantly to their encouragement. Start by becoming an informational partner by being added to a mailing list, gradually increasing involvement through prayer and financial giving, until your partnership becomes a clear and impactful collaboration.
Go Yourself

If you sense a personal calling to delve into overseas ministry among unreached peoples, then embarking on the "Go Yourself" journey is the path for you. This encompasses options ranging from short-term stints to medium and long-term commitments, as well as out-and-back trips. Opportunities abound in fields such as medicine, agriculture, education, business consulting, and academic trips for students. Going Yourself to unreached people opens up a diverse array of possibilities. Start with short-term endeavors and progressively transition to longer excursions until your role becomes distinctly defined.
Get Involved
Initiative is key when it comes to both Supporting Others and Going Yourself. Take the first step by reaching out to a mission agency dedicated to unreached peoples. Explore websites like Pioneeers and Beyond, and don't hesitate to initiate contact for more information. Inquire about how you can support or explore the various options for venturing out. It all starts with that first contact by you.
