Muslim #4
Study
Read Acts 20:21–25. (Part 2 of 3)
- Since our past is forgiven, our future is secure, and our mission is worthy, we have nothing to lose and everything to risk.
Agree or disagree? Explain.
- Unreached peoples live in the most challenging places to get to and the most dangerous and even deadly places to be. Still, we must reach them no matter what the cost.
Agree or disagree? Explain.
Watch
Multiply Chad (3:45)
- "Their heart language is a totally oral language."
If you had to pick three stories about Jesus to share with oral learners, what would they be? - “These people have been Muslim for hundreds of years and don’t even consider an alternative to being that.”
As a group, create a four-step strategy that might enable the gospel to penetrate the ingrained mindset of this type of person. - What else stood out to you from this video?
Multiply Indonesia (4:17)
- "For a Muslim, giving their heart to Christ isn't an easy decision."
Why is this especially true for Muslims? - "The most common objection is whether or not Jesus is God. We urge our church planters to challenge Muslims directly with this question, 'Ask God yourself. Is Jesus God or not?' And it works! A Muslim will see a vision, have a dream, experience a blessing, have a healing...when faith is practical and powerful Muslims take notice."
Does this differ from how we handle objections? Explain.

Read the poem from the video. Share which phrase impacted you the most, and why.
Facing a task unfinished that drives us to our knees,
A need that, undiminished, rebukes our slothful ease, We who rejoice to know You, review before Your throne The solemn pledge we owe You, to go and make You known Where other lords besides You, hold their unhindered sway, Where forces that defied You, defy You still today. With none to hear their cry for love and light and life, Numbered souls are dying and pass into the night. We bear the torch that flaming, comes from the hands of those Who gave their life proclaiming, that Jesus died and rose. Ours is the same commission, the same glad message ours, Fired by the same ambition. To You we yield our powers: Our Father who sustains, our Spirit who inspires, Our Savior whose love constraints, to toil with zeal and tire. Can coward-ness defend us from lethargy? Awake! For on Your errand send us, to labor for Your sake. |
Discuss
All excerpts are from Miraculous Movements, by Jerry Trousdale.
- "God is very strategic but quite wonderfully unpredictable." (p. 46)
Is it a valid strategy to just show up and let the process of discovering people of peace (the spiritually curious) guide the journey? Explain. - “Abundant evidence suggests that a primary element in successful ministry among Muslims is the measure of prayer support. The one absolute prerequisite for progress in this endeavor is praying until the impossible happens.” (p. 54)
Why is this especially true in ministry to Muslims? - “Muslim leaders seem to have much higher levels of disillusionment with Islam than their followers.” (p. 74)
Why do you think this is so?
- "Almost all former Muslim leaders report a feeling of liberation and joy when they read the Bible and discover the truth about God.” (p. 75)
Name five liberating, and joyful outcomes from reading the Bible. Then read Psalm 19:7-13
