Disciple-Making Prayers. Take your time, and don't feel pressured to get through the entire list. Embrace silence and pray as you are led by the Spirit.
Pray with Thanksgiving: Start by thanking God for the impact disciple-making has had on your life. Reflect on those who have discipled you and those you are discipling. Praise God for the relationships that have brought you closer to Him. Pray through the Open Prayers: Read the Scripture, and the description and pray as led.
Pray for a Disciple-Making Movement: Ask God to use you as a catalyst for a disciple-making movement. Pray for increased devotion to prayer, for divine connections with people who want to know more about Jesus, and for wisdom to guide them in learning about Him through Scripture. Ask for grace to coach them to multiply—empowering them to make disciples themselves and grow the movement. Note: We will delve into these elements more in upcoming sessions. Pray with Scripture: Choose any passage from the book of Acts to fuel your prayers for disciple-making. Let the stories of the early church inspire you to pray. When you finish praying over one passage, select another. Continue this until your time of prayer concludes. |
Use the following to generate disciple making prayers. Don't worry if you don't get through the entire list. Embrace silence, and pray as you are led.
Begin by thanking God for any impact disciple making has had upon your life; both those who discipled you and those you disciple. Continue by praying the Open Prayers below by reading the accompanying Scriptures (in any translation), then allowing the description to shape prayer.
Ask God to use you to start a disciple making movement by: increasing the time you devote to prayer, finding people who want to know more about Him, showing them how to learn about Him in Scripture, and coaching them to multiply. Note: We're going to cover these things in the upcoming sessions. Choose any passage from Acts and let it generate disciple making prayer. When you're finished praying that passage, choose another. Continue until the time is done. |

overview
Welcome to Launch, a transformative training resource designed to equip believers with the foundational skills to make disciples who, in turn, make disciples. It aims to kickstart a disciple-making movement (DMM) over several sessions and can be experienced individually in a self-taught format or ideally in a small group led by a facilitator. Here’s what sets Launch apart: Targets the Spiritually Restless: Launch is designed for individuals who have a holy, healthy discontent and are eager to grow. It's especially tailored for those who are passionate about learning how to make disciples who, in turn, make more disciples. Focus on Unbelievers: The main focus for those participating in Launch is to reach out to unsaved friends, family members, and others whom God places in your path. While this may initially include individuals from your church, other churches, or ministries, the main focus is to form relationsips with those outside the walls of the church. Emphasis on Action: Unlike traditional training that often focuses on knowledge, Launch prioritizes practical application. This obedience-based approach ensures that what you learn is put into practice, promoting immediate disciple-making application. LEADER TIPS
Here’s what sets Launch apart:
Targets the Spiritually Restless: Launch is designed for individuals who have a holy, healthy discontent and are eager to grow. It's especially tailored for those who are passionate about learning how to make disciples who, in turn, make more disciples. If you are a follower of Jesus and feel dissatisfied with your current level of involvement in fulfilling the Great Commission, Launch is for you.
Rooted in God's Desire for All to Know Him: Launch is built on the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to discover God. Our vision aligns with God’s desire for all to experience salvation, as stated in 1 Timothy 2:4 and 2 Peter 3:9. Through Launch, you’ll be equipped to help others deepen their relationship with God, who will then assist others in doing the same, fostering a culture of multiplication.
Focus on Unbelievers: The main focus for those participating in Launch is to reach out to unsaved friends, family members, and others whom God places in your path. While this may initially include individuals from your church, other churches, or ministries, the main focus is to get outside the walls of the church.
Emphasis on Action: Unlike traditional training that often focuses on knowledge, Launch prioritizes practical application. This obedience-based approach ensures that what you learn is put into practice, promoting immediate disciple-making application.
Sequential and Closed Format: Once begun, Launch operates as a closed event due to its sequenced nature, ensuring a structured learning process. However, participants are encouraged to start their own Discovery Groups with interested friends during Launch, fostering multiplication right from the start.
Optimal in Small Groups: Launch is most effective when experienced in small groups of 3-6 individuals. Larger groups should be able to form smaller breakouts. OVERVIEW
To ensure Launch's success, it's crucial to become familiar with all the resources outlined in the week-by-week training plan below. Knowing these resources ahead of time will significantly enhance the experience for everyone involved.
After thoughtful prayer, personally reach out to a select few individuals to invite them to join Launch, ensuring to highlight its distinctive features as stated above. You may consider sharing this link. Beginning with a small group is key to laying the groundwork for a larger movement. A starting group of 3-6 individuals is ideal. Prioritize those who are enthusiastic about becoming active disciple makers and are capable of training others.
Meetings should start at the agreed-upon date and stick to the designated start and end times, with each session lasting 90 minutes.* Encourage everyone to commit to attending all the training meetings to fully benefit from the program. If you're meeting in person, consider setting aside some time for mingling with refreshments after the formal session ends. It's a great way to build camaraderie and deepen relationships. * If your group is not limited by time, agreeing to a two hour time limit can create a more relaxed pace.
Following the week-by-week plan below ensures thorough and repeated teaching of Discovery Bible Study (DBS), along with coverage of related resources.
It's crucial to carve out enough time for Debrief during each meeting. This is a time for valuable reflection, addressing questions, and viewing helpful videos that complement the learning. While it's ideal to show the videos during the session, if that's not possible, it's important to encourage everyone to watch them between meetings to ensure they don't miss out on valuable insights.
Make sure to pay close attention to the key points highlighted in the Debrief section of the last training meeting. This section contains crucial reminders. Schedule your first coaching meeting using Coach as a template for those sessions. Invite practitioners to participate in the second step of training: the DMM Training. This eight-session resource delves deep into the foundational principles that drive DMM, tying together with "how-to" with "why."

Every disciple-making movement is characterized by a vibrant prayer movement—a collective, fervent, and steadfast pouring out of petitions. The book of Acts vividly demonstrates how every significant breakthrough in the early church was propelled by earnest prayer. Through prayer, we enter into God's presence, aligning ourselves with His purposes and unleashing His power to advance His Kingdom.
Do a study on one of the prayer passages in Acts. What does it say about prayer and why is that important for us to know? Acts ?? Pray the open prayers. |

Task: (15 minutes). Read the FARM Conversation. Activity: (45 minutes). Practice the FARM conversation with each other as a group. Enjoy the interaction, but aim to keep your responses concise, as the 45-minute session will pass swiftly. One person starts by asking another a Family question, "Tell me something about your family." If you know the person well, ask, "Tell me something about your family I haven't heard yet." The person who answered the Family question then asks another person the Academic question, "Tell me something about what your studies (or what you do for a living.)" The person who answered the Academic/Occupation question then asks another person the Recreation question, "Tell me about any special interests or hobbies?" The person who answered the Recreation question then asks another person one of the following Message questions. Continue with the Message questions as time allows. Spiritual Background Question: "It's been fun learning about your personal background. I'm curious—can you share a bit about your spiritual background?" Jesus Experience Question: "I'm curious, does Jesus play a role in your life, and if so, how does he influence you?" Spiritual Readiness Question: "There's one question I like to ask people I meet. The Bible says we were created for a life filled with love, joy, hope, peace, power, and purpose. Which of these resonates with you the most right now?" Spiritual Identity Question: Scenario 1: Imagine you have just been asked what kind of work you do. Respond with, "I help people discover the [pick two] love, joy, hope, peace, power, purpose of a relationship with Jesus Christ. Have you discovered this?" Then add, "Would you like to discover this?" This is when you transition to a DBS. Scenario 2: Imagine the person you spoke with is a believer. Ask, "I help followers of Jesus make disciples who make disciples. Do you know how to do this?" Then add, "Would you like me to show you how?" This is when you transition to a DBS. Scenario 1: Imagine someone asks you what kind of work you do. Respond with, "I help people discover the [pick two] love, joy, hope, peace, power, and purpose of a relationship with Jesus Christ. Have you discovered this?" Follow up with, "Would you like to discover this?" This is the point at which you can transition to a Discovery Bible Study (DBS). Scenario 2: Imagine the person you spoke with is a believer, ask, "I help followers of Jesus make disciples who make disciples. Do you know how to do this?" Then add, "Would you like me to show you how?" This is the point at which you can transition to a DBS. Group Sharing: If time permits have participants share any disciple-making experiences they have had and the impact these experiences have had on them. Debrief. (30 minutes) Watch Vision (9:45). Evaluate the concept of the FARM conversation. As a group, commit to having as much of a FARM conversation as you can the upcoming week, and each week thereafter. week 5
Task: (30 Minutes): Share about any FARM conversations that took place over the past week. Discuss the experiences and insights gained. Read One Thing Study. Activity: (30 Minutes): Practice One Thing Study. As a group, choose a passage of Scripture and read it aloud together. Then read the passage again silently. Take a few minutes to identify your "One Thing"—a word, phrase, or sentence that speaks to your heart and that you believe God wants you to meditate on. Share your "One Thing" with the group, explaining why it resonated with you. Pray by one person summarizing their "One Thing" and then another person praying for them. That person then summarized their One Thing and another prays. Repeat this process until everyone has shared and been prayed for. Debrief: (30 Minutes) Evaluate the One Thing Study. Watch The Bible is Alive (2:09) If time permits read "More Information" on the One Thing page. Continue to have FARM conversations throughout the week. Dedicate time to doing a few One Thing Studies and be ready to share your experiences during the next session. |
Welcome to Launch, a six-session training resource crafted to equip believers with the skills to make disciples who make more disciples. It's designed to kick start a disciple-making movement over a period of weeks. Here's what sets Launch apart:
Firstly, it's all about application. Unlike traditional training, Launch prioritizes action over just gathering knowledge by focusing on obedience-based disciple making, ensuring that what you learn is put into practice. This hands-on approach caters to individuals who are eager to help others discover God in a practical way.
Secondly, Launch operates as a closed event, ensuring a sequential and cohesive learning journey for everyone involved. However, we encourage participants to start their own Discovery Groups with interested friends during Launch, fostering multiplication right from the start.
Thirdly, after the initial training, participants have the opportunity to engage in ongoing coaching. These monthly gatherings, whether in person or online, bring together both newcomers and experienced disciple makers to provide vital encouragement. Being part of a disciple-making community is essential for multiplication to thrive.
If participants choose to continue, Launch serves as the starting point for a multi-step disciple-making journey. It acts as a catalyst, sparking DMM practices and building momentum over several weeks. In contrast, Multiply provides a deeper and more extensive training program spanning several months, aimed at fostering long-term impact and growth. The journey ultimately concludes with formal DMM Training, lasting eight sessions, which explores the foundational principles underlying the entire disciple-making movement.
Ready to be part of something transformative? Let's Launch into action together!
If you're extending an invitation publicly to a large group, make sure it's directed to those ready to reproduce, without obligating the entire group. Not everyone may be ready to jump into this journey right now. For instance, you might say, "We invite those interested in learning how to make disciples who make disciples, to indicate so in the following manner," and provide them with a link for more details. Either way, be ready to form breakouts of no more than six people. This is key.

Launch is a multi-week training resource crafted to rapidly equip believers in effectively engaging non-believers through Discovery Bible Story (DBS).
Launch distinguishes itself from traditional Bible studies by placing a greater emphasis on obedience-based disciple making rather than simply accumulating knowledge. It focuses on practical application and active involvement, catering to individuals enthusiastic about guiding others to discover God through Discovery Bible Study (DBS).
While Launch is designed to kickstart DMM practices and provide initial momentum, Multiply offers a more comprehensive and in-depth training experience over several months. In essence, Launch sets the stage for DMM practices to take root, while Multiply nurtures and cultivates them for lasting impact and expansion.
Throughout the multi-week duration, Launch operates as a closed event to ensure a sequential training process. However, participants are encouraged to establish their own Discovery Groups with interested parties at any point during Launch. A week by week template is contained below for those who would benefit from it.
Following the initial phase, Launch transitions into the coaching phase. This shift entails moving from learning about DBS and Discovery Groups to actively fostering the establishment of these groups. Coaching plays a pivotal role in ongoing multiplication. Meetings may occur less frequently, possibly once or twice a month, and can be conducted either in person or virtually, following the outlined steps in Coach.

PRELAUNCH
Get acquainted with the resources outlined in the week-by-week plan below. Knowing these resources ahead of time will enhance the experience for everyone.
In prayer, extend personal invitations to a small group of believers (2-5) enthusiastic about being trained to reach unbelievers. Clearly outline the uniqueness of Launch. Ensure these invitations are made privately to avoid public invitations in the presence of others.
LAUNCH
Begin meetings promptly on the agreed-upon date and adhere to the designated start and end times. Each meeting is designed to last 90 minutes. Encourage all participants to commit to attending all five meetings.
Consider following the week-by-week plan provided below. This plan ensures that Discovery Bible Study (DBS) is taught each week, covers related resources, and prompts others to share the facilitator role.
Utilize available resources to the best of your ability, including showing the listed videos during the Debrief segment. If unable to show the videos during the group meeting, encourage participants to view them individually between meetings.
Allocate ample time for debriefing. This segment of the training provides valuable opportunities for discussion and learning, so ensure it is given adequate attention.
