The following are the different ways to incorporate DMM into an existing church. 
 
Bless

• Catch the vision & don’t resist, but bless movement work in your area. Pray.
• Pastor Role: Any pastor can do this without pushback.

 
Release

• Catch the vision & don’t resist, but bless movement work in your area. Pray.
• Release some of your “radicals” to be trained by a DMM trainer & sent as missionaries from your church in your city.
• Pastor Role: Most pastors can do this, but will likely need leadership approval since the radicals may be some of the best givers/volunteers.

 
Hybrid

• Catch the vision & don’t resist, but bless movement work in your area. Pray.
• Release some of your “radicals” to be trained by a DMM trainer & sent as missionaries from your church.
• Add a DMM track in your church that you publicly promote & invite people to join (hybrid).
• Pastor Role: Some pastors may be able to get leadership approval for this, but will be more difficult than the release level because it becomes a public focus of the church.
• Resources: Spent Matches. 

 
Transition

• Catch the vision & don’t resist, but bless movement work in your area. Pray.
• Release some of your “radicals” to be trained by a DMM trainer & sent as missionaries from your church.
• Add a DMM track in your church that you publicly promote & invite people to join (hybrid).
• Leverage everything in your church to support the DMM vision (transition).
• Pastor Role: Few pastors will probably be able to do this unless they are a founding pastor or have been there long-term and can get leadership & congregational buy-in.

 
Relaunch

• Catch the vision & don’t resist, but bless movement work in your area. Pray.
• Release some of your “radicals” to be trained by a DMM trainer & sent as missionaries from your church.
• Add a DMM track in your church that you publicly promote & invite people to join (hybrid).
• Leverage everything in your church to support the DMM vision (transition).
• Send out everyone to plant DMM churches or join other churches (relaunch).
• Pastor Role: Even fewer pastors will probably be able to do this unless they are a founding pastor or have been there long-term and can get leadership & congregational buy-in.
• Resource: From Mega church to Multiplication.

Notes:

• Some Pastors recognize that their churches will not want to join this journey with them and will feel led by the Holy Spirit to resign & pursue it separately from their church.
• Some Pastors will feel led by the Spirit to stay with the church & take the church on this journey with them.
• Hybrid, Transition & Relaunch definitely require you to count the cost as it could result in some division in the church.
• The most important thing to do is exactly what the Spirit of the Lord is telling your church to do. Rev 2:11
