One of the greatest joys in making disciples is watching groups form spontaneously. There’s something deeply rewarding about seeing people you’ve trained begin leading their own discovery groups. As this starts to happen, don’t lose sight of the simple things that matter most.
- Obedience Over Knowledge. Focus on helping people respond to God’s Word with action, not just information. Groups thrive when people say, “I will…” and follow through. Obedience fuels transformation.
- Simple over complex. Keep the process simple enough that anyone can say, “I can do this.” If the method requires special training or a charismatic leader, it won’t multiply. Simplicity leads to sustainability.
- Discovery Over Teaching. Let people discover truth for themselves through Scripture and Spirit-led discussion. Encourage people to read Scripture to find answers to questions. Discovery leads to ownership, and ownership leads to movement.
