The expression of God's inherent goodness in the past, present, and future warrant Him being praised for the good that happens in life. In fact, it's a wonder he's not thanked more when there is the absence of bad things.
Conversely the presence of powerful spiritual beings, the utter depravity of man's nature, and the brokenness of creation are the blame for suffering, destruction, and death.
