Cohorts

Cohorts are groups of leaders from various churches, that meet once a month, for two hours, for five months, to learn how to become a Great Commission church. The meetings are free, via Zoom. Cohorts consist of leaders who are paid or volunteer, full/part time or bi-vocational, male or female. Anyone in church leadership is encouraged to join.

The Great Commission Church can be defined by the terms Gather, Grow, and Go. Each of these three areas consists of specific ministries listed below.

Each Cohort focuses on a ministry over the five months. The goal is to launch or improve that area of ministry so it becomes self-sustaining and fruitful. The specific areas of ministry are listed below.

GATHER

  1. Prayer. Implement one or more of the different types of prayer ministries.
  2. Celebration service. Strengthen the four elements of a healthy weekend service. 
    ​
GROW

  1. Small Groups. Launch a healthy and expanding small group ministry. 
  2. Ministry teams. Generate lasting and productive teams that are nimble, and scalable. 

GO
​
  1. Local disciple making. Equip people to make disciples with anyone, anywhere, at any time. 
  2. Global disciple making. Mobilize people to discover their role in global missions. 
  3. Church Planting. Carry out a plan for planting a church.
