PowerBuilder consultant for a syndication system including contracts, orders-entry, billing, sales, distribution, accounting and order entry applications that tracks television shows and movies across all U.S. TV markets and TV stations.  Designed and developed windows inherited from a custom-designed framework for the MDI application, which incorporated both decision support and OLTP components.  The application tracks and reports customers, Nielson ratings and markets, orders, accounting, and all TV programs/movies in a SYBASE System 11 database.  Created and deployed the executables and many email notices as well as worked efficiently and easily with numerous developers, users, and analysts.  Also developed a Pay-Per-View program to track finances, billing and availability of movies films to cable stations and hotels along with the Service Organization providers.

 

The Prudential Real Estate Affiliates - Costa Mesa, California                           5/95 to 9/95

Lead PowerBuilder client/server consultant on several Prudential Real Estate Affiliates applications to track home referrals around the continent.  Converted a Windows application from a Single Document Interface application to a Multiple Document Interface application.  Wrote a class library to help with the Object Oriented programming including standard Windows controls and user objects for a several levels of inheritance and encapsulation.  Used Microsoft SQL Server 4.21 as the  database with stored procedures and triggers.  Worked completely independently except for working with users on business requirements.  Also completed application to track all code tables throughout PREA.


TRW Credit Corp - Orange, California                                                                1/95 to 5/95

PowerBuilder consultant for a Windows application that helps input the TRW Credit information from thousands of credit companies around the world.  Designed and developed a number of windows for updating the main TRW Credit database through an ORACLE gateway to a DB2 database.  Supported the PowerBuilder PowerFrame class library working with the vendor, Metasolv.  Also became the Novell Netware 3.11 and TCP/IP Systems Administrator for the development team, adding new users, assigning access rights, and installed and configured PowerBuilder version control software, PVCS.

 

IBM Corporation - Long Beach, California                                                          9/94 to 12/94

PowerBuilder consultant for an initial AARP client/server project.  The application was an On-line Transaction Processing application with 175 users spread between Long Beach, CA and Washington, DC.  My role was to fix up the application from a user interface perspective and interfaced between PowerBuilder and COBOL stored procedures through an MDI gateway to a mainframe DB2 database.

 

Southern California Edison - Alhambra, California                                              10/93 to 10/94

Lead PowerBuilder consultant and developer for a major telecommunications application connecting Edison electrical locations over a 20,000 square mile area with a SYBASE System 10 database. Developed an MDI application using PowerBuilder 3.0, class library PowerClass 3.0a, on Windows and Win/OS2.  Converted most window based scripts to business class objects with user-defined events and functions similar to the way an OO developer would use SmallTalk. Transferred location coordinates to MapInfo, in order to map the telecommunications networks including cables and logic circuits.  Converted the app from SYBASE to Watcom SQL for demo purposes. Lead contact in working with PowerSoft and ServerLogic for enhancements and technical issues.

 

Unihealth CASECare Insurance - Burbank, California                                        9/93 to 10/93

Helped design a database using ER/Win and developed a GUI client/server application using PowerBuilder with an ORACLE backend to help a major health insurance organization provide a meta-data application to track all incoming patients from hospitals and HMO's.  Designed windows and datawindows as the only developer and produced custom reports.  Ported the application to 3.0 and developed a PowerBuilder framework to begin future projects with minimal setup time.

 

Banker’s Trust - Irvine, California                                                                        5/93 to 8/93

PowerBuilder consultant developer with a SYBASE relational database in creating a new banking application to track loans from the originating bank to the investors on Wall Street.  I used object-oriented scripts to produce an event-driven Windows graphical user interface application using MDI frame technology including menus, 50 windows, 100 datawindows, and a custom toolbar exploiting PowerBuilder's inheritance features to produce a framework to search, insert, update, and delete rows in each table.  Created customized reports using PowerBuilder 2.0 and then ported the entire application to 3.0 to use its features like 3D graphics, datawindow print options, and drop down datawindows.

 

NetBase Computing - Torrance, California                                                           1/93 to 4/93

Developed a contact management and class tracking application using PowerBuilder with a Microsoft SQL Server backend database.  Tracked all aspects of classes, triggers and stored procedures.

 

IBM Corporation - Boulder, Colorado & Fishkill, New York                                4/87 to 1/93

Worked with customers, marketing reps, and SE's to support a new TCP/IP based GUI application on Windows, OS/2, AIX, and Macintosh. Possess great customer and user interaction abilities gained from software product demos given at trade shows COMDEX  and INTEROP.

Client/server programming using C and Berkeley Sockets. Program involved heterogeneous TCP/IP platforms sharing sockets and using FTP between OS/2 or AIX clients with MVS or VM servers.

Performed tools analysis, design, and implementation for a military satellite program for the United States Air Force using REXX, Assembler, FORTRAN, and Jovial, and requiring a Secret Clearance.
